By Ferry
There is a regular ferry service from the No 1 Steps on the Price of Wales Pier in Falmouth to Flushing’s Fish Cross Quay which is about 300 metres from the pub. The ferry is affected by tides and weather so do check its website before you set out. Connecting ferry services from St Mawes, via the pier, are also available. The ferry timetable is on its own website here and on the Fal River Links site here.
South West Coast Path
Flushing is well connected with beautiful coastal footpaths. To the west you can walk along the foreshore footpath to the ancient town of Penryn. You can also walk around Trefusis and Penarrow headlands to Mylor Churchtown and back by road. This means you can park in Flushing and end your walk with a drink or lunch at the Royal Standard.
By Road
Flushing is a short distance from Falmouth and Penryn via the A3292 (Commercial Road, Penryn). Turn off the A3292 by Just Delights into Church Hill which becomes Bissom Road. After about half a mile take a right into Tregew Road. At the crossroads at the end of Tregew Road, turn right to enter the village. You will find the Royal Standard on your left as you drive down the hill. Parking is tight in the village so please be careful and allow yourself time to find a space.
By Rail
The nearest railway station is Penryn which is on the Truro to Falmouth branch line. This gives walking access via the river footpath mentioned above. Similarly, alighting at Falmouth Docks station puts you within a short walk of the Prince of Wales Pier where ferry services (above) are available. Timetables here.
By Bus
Flushing is served by the 69 and 69A buses which are operated by First Bus. There is a bus stop just outside the Royal Standard. Find the timetable online here.
